Preventing Scoliosis
Some injuries are preventable whereas other injuries aren't and Scoliosis is one injury that isn't preventable. Since most of the causes of Scoliosis are unknown, there is no real way to know. You may not be able to prevent Scoliosis, but certain activities can contribute to the injury. The severity of Scoliosis can be reduced through bracing or corrective surgery.
Watch Out!
( Tasks such as those listed below can worsen the injury or determine whether Scoliosis is present)
- Wearing a heavy backpack on one backpack
- Playing a violin or some type of instrument that requires an offset stance
- Pay attention to sporting habits
Be Aware!
- Keep an eye on how you walk
- Any unevening of hips or shoulders means a check-up ASAP
- Exercise regularly
- Eat healthy
